Preparation for Spinning: Strick was combed through a flicker
to remove the shorts, leaving only the longest, parallel fiber.
Fiber was separated into thin fingers and placed in a towel to increase
control during spinning.
Reason for Choice of this Sample: This was the best quality
strick available to me at the time.

Finishing: Wetspun was wound onto a pvc bobbin
and boiled in water and detergent for 30 minutes to remove oils. Yarn
was rinsed, wound onto a skeiner, partially dried and hung to
finish drying.

lace—this is almost identical to the linen thread I tried to learn
with. This would be a good yarn for weaving household linens.
Specifically, I would like to spin the yarn for linen pillow shams
with tape woven closures. Someday…….
