Preparation for Spinning: Part of the fiber was dyed with
Christmas Red acid dye, rinsed and dried. Dyed and un-dyed fibers
were carded on extra-fine hand cards to create light, medium and dark
rolags.
Reason for Choice of this Sample: Readily available and the
bleached tussah silk dyes very well.

Finishing: Singles yarn was Navajo 3-plied,
skeined, steamed to set the twist, and hung to dry
Length of yarn:
Suggested Uses: This would make nice warp and weft for a woven
scarf or shawl. It would also make a nice knitted vest--basket
weave pattern. Either use would allow the color change to add
interest. With careful project planning this could be stunning.
