Skein 28

Yarn from cellulose fibers

Fiber:  lyocell
Type:  Commercial Tencel™ top
Preparation for Spinning:  Fiber was sectioned into pieces lengthwise and crosswise for easier handling.
Reason for Choice of this Sample:  I wanted to use loose, cut staple lyocell, but was unable to find any.  This was my second choice and easy to obtain.
Type of Spinning:  supported long draw from the fold
Equipment Used:  bobbin flyer wheel
Direction of Twist:  Z, S
Number of Plies:  3
Weight of Skein:
Finishing:  Plied yarn was wound into a center pull ball and space dyed with liquid reactive dyes.  Dyed yarn was rinsed, skeined to partially dry and hung to complete drying.
Length of yarn:
Suggested Uses:  The shine and drape of this yarn would be well suited to a woven scarf or, my choice, a triangle shawl.  With the right pattern choice, it would also make a nice knitted poncho.
