Preparation for Spinning: Fleece was washed in detergent,
rinsed and air dried. Clean fiber was carded into rolags using
hand cards.
Reason for Choice of this Sample: This fleece met the
down-type requirement and was an appropriate length for woolen spinning.
Compared to many fleeces of this type, it was relatively free of
vegetable matter.
Finishing: Yarn was wound onto a skeiner, dyed in acid dye,
rinsed and hung to dry.
Length of yarn:
Suggested Uses: This yarn just needs to be a
fulled bag or coin purse. For a fulled knitting bag, I would definitely
line it in a coordinating floral fabric. The fulled coin purse needs
some embroidered flowers on the front.
