The difficulty for me with this section came from trying to explain the use of the equipment "briefly" but also not assume too much knowledge from the reader. Are they reading the answer from the perspective of someone who knows the equipment and is looking for accuracy or as a novice wanting an understandable explanation? If you write so that someone who has no background can understand and have a basic grasp of the concept is that enough for a judge with a deep skill level.
