Construction Technique Used:  Swatch was hand knit on size 4 double point needles.  The melon stitch pattern was taken from a shawl in "Victorian Lace Today" by Jane Sowerby.  The finished swatch was steam pressed to open the pattern.

Suggested End Use:  Since this stitch pattern was originally a shawl, an obvious choice would be to complete the shawl.  However, I think with the addition of a good edging, this would make a lovely fichu for a summer print dress.
